Biography

Adv Anna-Marié de Vos SC was admitted as an advocate in 1985 and took silk in 1997. She practised at the Pretoria Bar for approximately 15 years, with a broad civil and commercial practice, before being appointed as a Judge of the High Court. She served on the Bench for six years.
Following her return to practice, she has concentrated particularly on constitutional and administrative law, land and housing matters and related public-law litigation, while continuing to undertake selected commercial and other civil matters. She has appeared in numerous matters before the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court, including cases dealing with significant constitutional and public-law issues.
She is also a qualified mediator and is developing this aspect of her practice, with a particular interest in resolving complex civil, commercial and public-law disputes. She has a longstanding interest in advocacy training and mentoring younger members of the profession.
Adv de Vos practises from chambers in Plettenberg Bay and, from 1 September 2026, as a member of the Tshwane Society of Advocates in Pretoria.
