Biography

Philani Zuma holds an LLB Degree from the University of Pretoria.


He was admitted on 4 July 2016 in the North Gauteng Pretoria division as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. He was first introduced into legal practice as an advocate in 2016, where he gained exposure to Labour law and general legal practice.


He further developed his skills through pupillage at the Pretoria Society of Advocates from January 2017 and subsequently practiced at High Court Chambers from the year 2018 and later moved to New Court Chambers before joining the Tshwane Society of Advocates in 2022.


He demonstrated a commitment to community involvement, particularly in educating prisoners about human rights from 2011 to 2016 through the University of Pretoria working with the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Facility. In addition to his practice, he is an adjudicator for the Community Schemes Ombud Services, a member of the Refugees Appeals Authority and a certified Mediator.
