Biography

Jerry holds a B.Iuris and LLB from the University of South Africa. He practiced in criminal litigation in the Commercial Crimes Court and the High Court and prosecuted in the greater Johannesburg and Randburg Regional Courts for 6 years before joining the Public Service. He served as a forensic investigator at the Gauteng Province’s Shares Service Centre in 2004 and later joined the Department of Trade and Industry from 2005 to 2019 working on consumer protection investigations and consumer law and policy development. Furthermore, he has acquired extensive experience in mediation in consumer protection dispute resolutions and holds a senior certificate in mediation and arbitration from the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa accredited by the University of Pretoria. He started practicing as an advocate with the Pretoria Society of Advocates after successful completion of pupillage training in 2019. Since May 2020, he is now a member of the Tshwane Society of Advocates. His current practice includes labour law, public and commercial law litigation.
